"Peace in oneself ~ peace in the world."
Thich Nhat Hanh
“What we should ask ourselves is if we are practicing love for ourselves, because to love ourselves means to love our community. If we’re able to love ourselves, to nourish ourselves correctly, to not intoxicate ourselves, we’re already protecting and nurturing our society. Because the moment we’re able to smile, to look at ourselves with compassion, our world begins to change.” Thich Nhat Hanh
The Anacortes Mindfulness Community practices meditation and mindfulness in the tradition of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, with an emphasis on cultivating mindfulness in daily life and using the support of a Sangha (community).
Please join us at the Christ Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 1216 7th St., Anacortes, WA, for weekly meditation in the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh, where our practice is to relax and bring awareness to the beauty of the present moment.
By settling our minds on everyday gifts such as the flow of our breath and the sensation of our feet touching the floor, we strengthen our ability to embrace the complexity of our lives and the world in which we live. Everyone is welcome, no meditation experience necessary.
This community gathering is held on Tuesdays, 6:00-8:00 pm. By donation.
