~ Unapologetically Ourselves ~
Standing in Our Truth with Confidence and Kindness

An Online Retreat
October 30 - November 1, 2020
Sponsored by Anacortes Mindfulness Community

The Buddha lived in the world with his heart undisturbed by the world. Imagine,
for a moment, living your life with that kind of freedom. How might you feel about,

love, and express yourself?

Join Jonathan Prescott and Michael Melancon in an online retreat dedicated to
honoring our unique individual and collective expressions of Buddha nature.
We’ll look inward to find our still, kind hearts, then move outward to explore the
balance of strength and softness that allows us to be unapologetically

This retreat offers silent meditation, Dharma talks, small group sharing, and private
practices, all held within a container of welcoming stillness. Won’t you join us?

Schedule and Topics:
This retreat is modeled on the natural rhythms of breathing in and breathing out.

Friday Evening October 30:

Welcome (6:55 to 8:00 pm)
Orientation, Introduction and Bed Time Stories

Saturday Morning Oct. 31: Facing In ~ Authenticity (9:00 am to 1:00 pm) *
The in-breath: Shining the light of compassion within: inquiry, true-self, grounding,
awakening, and understanding. Freedom.

Sunday Morning Nov. 01: Facing Out ~ Equanimity & Poise (9:00 am to 1:00 pm) *
The out-breath: Taking our authenticity into the world with energy, compassion,
kindness and generosity. Facing outward we shine the light of compassion on others.

Letting go.

* On both Saturday and Sunday, you’re invited to an optional 30-minute silent sitting
meditation at 8:00 am; and an optional social BYO Breakfast, Coffee or Tea at 8:30 am.

Retreat Leaders: Michael Melancon is practice leader for Two Palms Up Sangha in Palm Springs, CA.  Jonathan
is practice leader for Anacortes Mindfulness Community in Anacortes, WA. In 2005, Zen Master Thich Nhat
Hanh ordained Jonathan and Michael into the Tiep Hien Order of Interbeing. They have practiced together for twenty
years, teach mindfulness meditation, and guide others in practicing the forms of the Plum Village Tradition of
Engaged Buddhism.

Registration is $100 (suggested donation; 20% of which is non-refundable) for all three days, with 75% of the funds going to the leaders of the event and 25% going to Anacortes Mindfulness Community.  If you wish, you may offer more in order to help cover the costs for those who are unable to pay the full amount.    The "Donate" button allows for both the ticket sale and any additional donation you wish to make.
