In this introductory talk, Jonathan speaks about the nature of a practice period - what it is, why we do it, and how it benefits us as individuals and as a Sangha. He outlines a 3-step method we’ll use to explore and deepen: thinking about concepts with our minds; allowing experiences into our bodies to know then directly; and fostering the vast awareness that allows us to hold whatever arises. Finally, we learn a bit of the Buddha’s story and how the Four Nobles Truths were one of his earliest teachings.
